The Program Director – MLS NEXT is expected to lead efforts to ensure the growth and success of Total Football Club’s MLS NEXT pillar. The Program Director must have a strong soccer background and technical background to lead the TFC MLS NEXT coaching staff. The program director must possess exceptional communication skills and be able to resolve conflicts in a professional manner. The Program Director – MLS NEXT is a full-time position that requires a non-traditional work schedule of daytime hours, evening hours, weekends, and some holidays. Travel is required. The program director will have regular exposure to outdoor activities and weather conditions.

The Program Director – MLS NEXT will perform the following essential administrative and training functions including, but not limited to, the following:

Trainer duties include:

Recruitment, background checks and selection, orientation, development and evaluation of the coaching staff.
Oversee all of the club’s MLS NEXT pillar programs.
Responsible for working with the General Manager, BOD and appropriate club authorities on club tournaments, camps and applicable player retention programs.
Design and implement a coaching education program using a combination of classes (curriculum) and field sessions (application) that allow for evaluation and feedback. Meet with coaches monthly (at a minimum).
Develop, monitor and manage the MLS NEXT ID pillar of talent and recruiting strategy.
Establish an effective player selection process for use during talent identification. Coordinate, monitor and lead Talent ID for all age groups under TFC’s MLS NEXT pillar.
Organize the annual Parent Orientation Night at the end of the talent identification process.
Approve tournament schedules for TFC MLS NEXT cornerstone teams, consistent with TFC philosophies and individual team needs, and assist teams in choosing appropriate tournaments and leagues of play.

Other functions assigned or required by the General Manager.

Administrative Duties:

Serve as the TFC representative at applicable MLS NEXT pillar league meetings and lead meetings as needed.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of all administrative requirements for MLS NEXT program teams.
Report to the General Manager and BOD, and work closely and collaboratively with the General Manager and BODs, on daily club operations related to MLS NEXT programs.
Maintain positive relationships and open communication with the BOD, GM, coaching staff, team managers, parents, players, and the community at large.
Provide semi-annual written evaluations to the coaching staff in the MLS NEXT pillar.
Assist in the development of the annual club budget related to the MLS NEXT pillar programs.
Seek corporate and other donors/sponsors for the club.
Hiring and dismissal of the coaching staff, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.

  • Salary Range: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year.

Strong leadership skills
USSF National "A" Trainer License (or foreign equivalent). An appropriate mix of gaming experience and training commensurate with an advanced license may be considered.
Competent handling of email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Background check required through US Club and US Youth Soccer
Unrestricted authorization to work for any employer in the United States - visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferences:

4 year college degree (business background a plus) preferred but not required
Preferably bilingual in Spanish.
