They are currently recruiting for an experienced nutritionist to be responsible for the nutritional support and education of all relevant First Team players, working within our expert medical team to achieve a holistic approach to player care.JOB OFFERReporting to the Chief Sports Scientist, the Performance Nutritionist will be responsible for the nutritional support and education of all relevant First Team players. The incumbent of the position will have as its objective the achievement of the objectives established in a program agreed with the Head of Sports Medicine.The purpose of the job is to maximize the performance and recovery of first team players primarily through nutrition (and other means) while interfacing within our multi-disciplinary department to ensure an optimal approach to player development.Prescribe, monitor and maintain optimal weight/body composition for first team players.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead the nutrition of the first team with individual and squad-based strategies. Monitoring of player nutrition and the impact on a player's performance (body composition, nutritional knowledge, anti-doping awareness, hydration)Periodize nutritional supplementation around the training program of the first teams and period of the seasonLead the ongoing development of a 'food first' nutritional approach to ensure a clear and consistent framework across the First Team team.Order all nutritional supplements, supplies and kits and ensure that all supplements, including batch test certificates, are stored and all supplements given to players are recorded in player records in the medical database and Club performance. Prepare the necessary nutritional supplements before and after training and matches.Lead the design and provision of nutritional data-driven feedback within the internal athlete management system to provide short-term and long-term monitoring of players that can be used to inform coaches and professionals of the current status of the players (weight/DXA/nutritional supplements/individuals). objectives)Respond to the requirements of first team physios and ensure rehab players receive individual support until they are fit.Liaise with the first team chefs and the facilities team on the daily menus at London Colney and the pre- and post-match menus to ensure that the food is of the highest quality and that the players reach their nutritional goals in every possible opportunity.Liaise with first team doctors on anti-doping updates and during anti-doping tests to ensure that all nutritional supplements are listed during an FA/UEFA anti-doping visit.Deliver all elements of the preseason nutritional assessment program, including DXA and hydration, and assist other parts of the performance and medical team as needed.Liaise with all international federations to ensure nutritional supplements provided to players during their international duty are registered and recorded.Ensure all Club nutritionists review and follow DXA protocols using IRMER legislation and ongoing review of research on the use of DXA in athletes. Ensure regular RPA visits and service from the DXA team to ensure best practices are followed.Liaise with the first team coaching staff weekly on player nutrition, planned nutritional events and suggested amendments/additions to first team menus.Liaise with associations in the nutrition association and meet contractually agreed goals.Manage relationships between all staff to ensure constant alignment and sharing of best practicesEnsure all medical and performance staff have 'Accredited Assessor' status with UK Anti-doping.Ensure annual FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid qualification is carried out.Actively contribute to Club Research and Development meetings and actively participate in CPD.
