Fulham FC is looking for a highly motivated, skillful and enthusiastic individual to join their Academy Sport Science team as a part-time fitness coach, focusing on strength & conditioning and data monitoring across the Foundation (FP) and Youth Development Phase (YDP).
Working at the Motspur Park Training Ground you will play a key role in the delivery of the Academy Sport Science programme including the planning, delivery and evaluation of gym and on pitch sessions in line with the Club’s philosophies.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team looking to help develop individual players physical qualities, robustness and capacity to perform at the highest level. In the main this role will be dedicated to the delivery of gym and on pitch fitness sessions across the FP and YDP, working closely with other members of the Sport Science team to deliver a progressive physical development programme. The further elements of the role will be dedicated towards the management, analysis and reporting of physical performance and wellbeing data to support the delivery of the Sport Science programme and individualisation of player Learning Plans.
It is essential that candidates have a proven track record of providing service excellence to young people and parents and demonstrate the necessary desire and commitment to develop themselves professionally and continuously.
Previous experience of working with and supporting the development of children/young adolescents is essential, as are excellent communication and organisational skills. A clear understanding of individualised development with experience of successfully deploying strategies to support this process are also essential requirements.
Candidates must possess the ability to set up, manage and develop outstanding learning environments that allow young people to feel safe and confident. You will have a strong understanding of the implications of growth and maturation on young elite athletes and will be able to confidently apply your knowledge to enhance player performance.
As a minimum, candidates are required to have a degree in Sport Science or Strength & Conditioning. Preferred requirements include postgraduate qualifications in the field of physical development. We are seeking a candidate who is able to work confidently with minimal supervision.
Candidates must also hold in date Basic First Aid for Sport and FA safeguarding qualifications. A more detailed understanding of safeguarding children plus risk assessing is also preferred for this role.
