Job Title: First Team Manager

Department: Senior Team

Accountable to: General Director and Committee.

Position Type: Part Time Hired / Expenses Paid.


Ability to manage, motivate and coach a first team squad while maintaining the club’s sustainability off the pitch.
Ability to create and manage an effective support/coaching team.
Ability to recruit, retain and develop players.
Ability to recruit, retain and develop coaches and assistants.
A role model for code of conduct behaviors in the game and a strong supporter of equality, diversity and inclusion standards in line with FA guidelines.
Key roles and responsibilities:

Develop a successful style of play for the first team, capable of delivering the required results.
Attend all training sessions and provide high quality training.
To attend all scheduled games.
Liaise, where appropriate, with the Academy Manager and Reserve Team Manager to facilitate development and experience opportunities for club Academy and Reserve Team players.
Excellent communication with players, staff and club committee representatives.
Provide feedback and review player development in line with individual player personal development plans.
Provide feedback, supervision and review of the development of coaches and assistants. Support them with the planning, preparation and delivery of detailed training sessions under supervision in accordance with the club’s philosophy.
Produce results and objectives established in the 5-year plan that includes promotion.
Liaise with coaches and assistant manager to help plan, prepare and deliver detailed individual sessions and plans.
Monthly meetings will be held between the administration staff and occasionally the Committee to assess, plan and provide feedback on progress and any issues that arise.

General Responsibilities:

To be an ambassador for Hull City Ladies FC by providing excellent customer service at all times, displaying a professional image throughout the interaction.
Treat all colleagues as customers ensuring positive and respectful results in all communications.
Perform other duties as needed, deemed relevant to the position and HCLFC goals.


  • Knowledge and strategic understanding of women's football clubs in the FA Women's National League.

  • Experience of operating in leadership positions.
  • Coaching and management experience of a first team.
  • Experience delivering high-level training at levels 3 and 4.

  • A or B professional license coach certificate.
  • Safeguard Certificate.
  • Trained in first aid.
